A 1986 Ford RS200 Evolution has come up on the market

The Ford FS200 is a mid-engine, four wheel drive sports car that was produced by Ford from 1984 to 1986. The vehicle was manufactured in Boreham, UK and was the basis for Ford’s Group B rally car. This is a fairly rare car because although 200 examples of the RS200 were built, only 24 were converted to the Evolution model that you see here.

These are incredible cars now but even more when you look at the engineering and consider this vehicle is from 1986. It is powered by a 2.1 litre inline-four engine that has been turbocharged. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission which has straight cut gears and 3 different limited-slip differentials.

The vehicle’s suspension system is incredible, as this was a rally car after all. This vehicle will handle like nothing you would expect from a normal production car.

This specific example is currently located in Oceanside, California and has just under 800km on the clock. It comes with the original tool kit, a leather-bound workshop and repair manual and all the receipts documenting it’s history.

About Meds

Ben is widely known as the car sales guy to his friends and family. He does not work at a dealership, although he has done so in the past. He currently works in fleet in the automotive industry and is a numbers guy. He currently drives a rather boring 2017 Ford F-150 as his daily, but his passion is his 2018 Ford Mustang GT. Disclaimer: he does not work for Ford, although he is a big fan.
